West, South India realty show positive sentiments
10th September, 2014
The property market in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore has witnessed more or less a stable scenario. This is after a prolonged sluggish realty scenario in the last couple of quarters. As per city indices, the economy has displayed positive sentiments and buyers are actively looking to invest. However, most buyers are willing to wait and make viable and informed choices. The most decisive determinants were pricing, good connectivity, proximity to workspaces, a stable government at the centre and in areas like Hyderabad, some momentum has taken place post the Telangana resolution.
Magicbricks recently conducted a webinar ‘West and South India: Know buyer/seller sentiments and property trends’ to study the same. Noted experts, E Jayashree Kurup, head-content and research, Magicbricks, Dr Venkatesh Panchapagesan, associate professor, finance and coordinator, IIM Bangalore and Uma Sitaraman, lead researcher at IIMB-Century Real Estate Research Initiative (CRERI) discussed positive sentiments across leading Indian realty markets with a special focus on West and South Regions.
The findings are based on the two main indices that point out the property trends and buyer sentiments. These are PropIndex that covers 11 active realty markets of India and the Housing Sentiment Index (HSI). PropIndex, a quarterly publication by Magicbricks, helps you with insights on national and city property index, listed price monitor, rent and yield meter, demand and supply analytics as well as a formal assessment of the locality. The HSI goes in for scientific research on housing sentiments and figures futuristic index for the cities.
